Abstract

The main goal is to determine the effect of sowing depth and amount of sugar cane straw on germination and emergence of species Chloris polydactyla and Eleusine indica and determine the effectiveness of the herbicide tebuthiuron and indaziflan in control of these species. In the first experiment, the design will be randomized following factorial 6 x 6, being studied six sowing depths (0.5, 1, 2, 4, 8 and 10 cm) and six different amounts of sugar cane straw (0 1; 2; 4; 8:10 t ha-1) using four replicates for each treatment. For installation of the experiment, the seeds will be positioned at different depths. Immediately after sowing, shall be placed on the soil surface different amounts of straw. The vessels will be placed in a greenhouse with irrigation and seedling emergence will be analyzed at 7, 14, 21, 28, 35 and 42 days after sowing, by counting the number of emerged plants. At the end of the test will be measured the height (cm) and dry weight of shoots of weeds (g). In the second experiment, on the effectiveness of herbicides in weed control, the experimental design will be completely randomized for each herbicide (tebuthiuron and indaziflan) in a factorial 6 x 4 x 2, six different amount of straw sugarcane (0; 1; 2; 4; 8:10 t ha-1) four doses of herbicides (0D, 0.5D, 1D and 2D, where D is the commercial dose of each product) and two simulated rain precipitation (0 and 20 mm) with four replicates for each treatment. For the experiment, the best treatments in the first experiment will be repeated. Immediately after sowing, different residue amounts will be placed on the vessels and herbicides are applied. After herbicide application will be made to simulate rain. The phytotoxicity effects will be assessed at 7, 14, 21 and 28 DAT, following the table ALAM (1974). At the end of the test will be measured the height (cm) and dry weight of shoots of weeds (g). The data will be analyzed using appropriate statistical test.
