Abstract

Cancer is a multifactorial disease that affects more and more people, one of the leading causes of death today, since it is associated with the aging process, to bad eating habits and population inactivity. Tumors that affect the central nervous system are some incidents, but have high rates of morbidity and mortality. Among them, we highlight the gliomas with difficult diagnosis and poor prognosis due to the absence of ideal markers. Therefore, the development of a linear model which simulates the in vitro initiation and progression of the tumor markers facilitate the identification of improving diagnostic techniques and allowing the study of possible treatments more effective and less aggressive for the patients. The objective of this work is to develop and characterize morphological and molecular a model of glioma from primary cultures of human astrocytes.
