Abstract

This Project of Scientific Initiation (SI) aims to verify the applicability of determination of residual AFB1 in the liver, and AFB1-lysine in serum, for evaluation of the adsorbents efficiency in pigs fed aflatoxin-contaminated diets. The experimental intoxication of pigs has been conducted previously. The activities of the IS Project comprise chromatographic analyses of residual AFB1, AFB2a, AFM1, aflatoxicol in liver samples, and determination of AFB1-lysine in the serum of pigs necropsied, aiming to verify the potential of the analytical data obtained as biomarkers for the evaluation of adsorbents for aflatoxins in pigs.
