Abstract

The wood-engineered products have become an interesting alternative to substitute solid wood in many applications, both for structural elements as components of the building and furniture industry and for packing. The wood particleboard used in building, especially in situations that require greater physical and mechanical resistance, appears as the proposal of this work that is to produce particleboard with eucalyptus wood particles bonded together with phenol-formaldehyde resin, varying the adhesive contents. The study includes evaluating the occurrence of improvement in physical and mechanical properties of the panels, using a reference for analysis particleboard results produced with urea-formaldehyde resin. Will be carried out physical and mechanical characterization meeting the specifications of the standard document NBR 14.810 / 2013.
