Abstract

Fridericia speciosa belongs to the family Bignoniaceae, which consists of 120 genera and 800 species of shrubs, trees and vines. The species of this taxon are distributed in tropical regions around the world, being of frequent occurrence in the Americas. The searches in PubMed, Web of Science and SciFinder database showed no articles about F. speciosa. Thus, the aims of this research project are to carry out the chemical study of the leaves ethanol extract of F. speciosa with potential use as an inhibitor of the enzyme lipoxygenase (LOX), which shown activity against LOX, evaluate the cytotoxic properties, and contribute to human resource formation in Franca region.
