Abstract The academies, clubs and places for practice physical activity (Fitness) has excelled as a principal means to insertion new professionals graduates in physical education. However, few studies about training, intervention and professional motivation in this field have been developed. Assuming the consolidated framework of social cognitive theory, more specifically the construct of the self-efficacy as a theoretical way to build a research to understand the configuration of the teaching of oriented physical activity group, the skills and abilities inherent in this action and the role of personal efficacy on professional practice, this qualitative study aims to identify, describe and analyze the skills, abilities, knowledge and self-efficacy beliefs related to the work of professionals in the teaching of oriented physical activity. The data will collected from official documents on training and professional intervention (national and international), and the participation of trainers and fitness professionals active in the field. Through semi-structured interview, these professionals may provide important information that will be added to the official documents. Thus, we expect to find subsidies that allow a connection between the teaching of the oriented physical activity in fitness context, the self-efficacy beliefs and professional training in this field of the Physical Education.
