Abstract

This research proposal part of the problem: the moments of reading and telling stories proposed in Early Childhood Education classes have aspects indicators that bring together what we call as activities capable of promoting learning driving a full cultural development in the early years of life? Its objectives are to scan, organize and analyze if there is evidence that the moments of reading and storytelling constitute as activities that motivate learning promoting human development, in groups of children from kindergarten, from principles and theories of Historic-Cultural theory; and, understand and systematize assumptions about the activity and reading concepts from the contributions of the Russian researcher A. Leontiev and other students of THC. The hypothesis to be confirmed is that these moments planned intentionally are essential for children's learning and promote their full human development. The qualitative research involves literature and research in the field with Nursery Schools teachers on pedagogical practices of reading and storytelling. Our research locus will be four public schools of Early Childhood Education, one from each region of a city in the interior. The data production instruments involve: semi-structured interviews with teachers, four observation sessions of their teaching practices and analysis of documents such as the weeklies these professionals.
