Abstract

The theme of this research refers to the current working conditions of teachers, focused on the prison context in São Paulo state. The main objective of this work is to elaborate the sociocultural profile of teachers who performs in schools located in the prisons of São Paulo, collecting information about their choice to teach in prisons, as well as aspects of cultural practice and information on the in-service teacher training program they have undergone. The data of the research will be collected through documents, questionnaires and semi structured interviews conducted with professionals who teach in prison schools of this state. As theoretical references, concepts formulated by Bourdieu are utilized, which helps us with the comprehension of the objective mechanisms in which these people are involved. The concepts of field and cultural capital will be utilized. (AU)
