Abstract

This is the work plan for the application of the post doctorate Henrique Oliveira Sawakuchi, at the Center of Nuclear Energy in Agriculture (CENA-USP), scholarship holder FAPESP 2014/21564-2. This research visit will be developed at University of Washington, Seattle, USA, supervised by Professor Richard Keil. The motivation of this internship is learning analytical procedures, data analysis and interpretation of metaproteomics focused on the carbon cycle in rivers. The general objective include performing metaproteomic analysis in order to evaluate the evolution and diversity of proteins and microorganisms in the low Amazon River and relate this with biogeochemical parameters mainly related to the carbon cycle and quantification of peptides involved in methane oxidation in order to increase the understanding of the methane cycle in the Amazon River.
