Abstract

There is a vast literature on problems of behaviour and social skills on childhood population. However, few are the studies that bring to focus social skills and behavioral problems on the adolescent population and that outline and compare the social skills of different kinds of problems of behaviour on adolescents: internalizing, externalizing and mixed on the comparison with the group of adolescents without problems of behaviour. Thereby, the general goal of this research will be to characterize and compare the social skills of adolescents with internalizing, externalizing and mixed problems of behavior and without problems of behaviour. Will take part on the research, 20 adolescents with problems of internalizing behaviour, 20 with problems of externalizing behaviour, 20 with mixed problems and 20 without problems of behaviour, within the age from 14 to 16 years. The participants with and without problems will be selected by the Youth Self Report -YSR (Achenbach & Rescorla, 2001). The social skills will be evaluated by IHSA-Del Prette. The data collection will take place at public schools and the application of the instruments will be collectively. The data will be analyzed by the statistical software SPSS version 22 and the results will be organized in tables. It is understood that the results of this research may assist and expand the scientific knowledge tracing the social skills of adolescents with and without problems of behaviour.
