Abstract

Individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) often have difficulty acquiring functional intraverbal repertoire, although they present mand, tact and listener verbal repertoires. This learning deficits may be related to the antecedent verbal variable, which, in most intraverbal relations, involves a type of multiple control identified as verbal conditional discrimination. This study aims to replicate an earlier study conducted by American authors who performed a descriptive analysis to determine whether there is a general sequence of acquisition of intraverbal repertoire in typically developing children and children with ASD and to verify whether this sequence could be used as an intraverbal assessment protocol to generate a possible teaching program of these verbal relations. Participants will be 30 typically developing children and 30 children with ASD. For each child, an intraverbal relation test with 80 items containing items with different complexities will be administered, ranging from simple verbal control to multiple verbal control (verbal conditional discrimination).
