Abstract

The Cerrado covers more than two millions squared kilometers, occuring at altitudes that change between 100 and 1240 meters, holds 3% of world biodiversity and 30% the Brazilian. An important species from this biome is Astronium fraxinifolium (Golçalo-Alves), that belongs to the Anacardiaceae family, presenting imparipinnate compound and alternate leaves. Its inflorecence has approximately 500 flowers, arranged on a terminal panicle. The species present dioicism, insect pollination, anemochory dispersion, alelochemical and medicinal potential. The aim of this project is to analyze anatomically the structure of secretory cavities that produce essential oil in leaves and study the chemical profile of it. The oil obtained by hydrodistillation, it will be analyzed considering the dioicism and the plant stress. The plant samples will be obtained on FEPE - Bovinos and FEPE - Cerrado (Fazenda de Ensino, Pesquisa e Extensão), both population present the same age and differs by only one received needed nutrients for the development and the other has grown on degraded environment with nutritional deficiency. After the collect the samples of leaves will be fixed, dehydrated, included in resin and sectioned for mounting histological slides and later anatomic analysis. The extraction of essential oil will be done by the technical of Cleveger and the later analysis, by chromatography in gas phase coupled a mass spectrometric detector (CG-EM).
