Abstract

The main objective of this Scientific Initiation project is the participation of the student in the development, adaptation and implementation of computational tools (routines) in IDL (Interactive Data Language), for applying wavelet techniques in the analysis of solar digital data, mainly, in time series of solar radio bursts recorded by the Brazilian Solar Spectroscope - BSS and by the spectrographs of e-Callisto network. The application of wavelet analysis techniques makes it possible to determine the temporal cadence or evidence of intermittent behavior of radio emission associated with solar flares. It is intended to develop analysis tools from pre-existing routines in MatLab, based on algorithms that use parent-wavelet of Gaussian type (Morlet). After tools development, they will be applied to data (time series) of solar emission, such as spikes emissions, type I bursts (and currents of type I) and other selected events. In this sense, the project should contribute to increase the capacity of solar data reduction and analysis by the CELESTE Research Group - Latin American Center for Solar-Terrestrial Studies (at IP&D / Univap), besides providing the student learning tools for data analysis of time series, with applications in several areas of knowledge.
