Abstract

Biodegradable scaffolds have shown great potential to aid in tissue engineering. The combination of factors such as the distribution of nanofibers and the incorporation of nanoparticles, which can guide and accelerate bone cells, can optimize the process of bone repair. In this study will be produced scaffolds PBAT embedded with carbon nanotubes nanoparticles (CNTs) and nanohidroxiapatita (nHA), to orthopedic and dental applicability. The scaffolds will be produced by electrospinning technique and divided into three groups according to their composition: a) PBAT (control); b) PBAT incorporated with nHA; c) PBAT embedded with nHA and CNTs. Prior to in vitro study, all scaffolds will be characterized by scanning electron microscopy to observe the distribution of nanofibers. Then are evaluated for its wettability. Finally, cell line MG63 cells, are cultured on scaffolds and after predetermined periods cytotoxicity tests will be performed (MTT) assay, cell adhesion, quantification of mineralized nodules and matrix analysis of cell morphology by direct fluorescence. All biological testing should be performed in three independent biological experiments. The data will be statistically analyzed initially using the normality test towards the implementation of appropriate statistical test. The significance level will be the standard value of 5%. (AU)
