Abstract

The present study aims to identify and evaluate the community caridean shrimp from consolidated sublitoral on the coastal north (Ilha Vitória) and central (Laje de Santos) of São Paulo state, considering and comparing ecological indexes of the two regions, as richness, diversity, dominance and evenness of the species, and relating to environmental factors for each of the regions. To obtain such parameters, bimonthly samples will be done in each location. Individuals will be collected by scuba divers performing manual collections with the aid of traps, being operated a sampling effort than one hour by two divers each day of collection. All individuals will be individualized in plastic bags properly numbered and identified with the place, and later to be taken to the laboratory of UNESP- Botucatu, to be identified to species level, and also identified sex to early then the statistical analysis. The environmental parameters such as salinity and water temperature will be measured with each collection. This work expected to determine clearly the structure of communities of caridean shrimp from consolidated sublitoral of São Paulo state and provide some new information about these individuals, since works related to this group are extremely scarce, especially when taken into consideration those who inhabit rocky sublitoral.
