Methods for cooperative estimation (combinations of algorithms and distributed estimation) lead to an improved performance, compared to traditional methods. The gain is obtained through information exchange between different estimators that operate simultaneously, allowing a better use of the available data. However, the presence of nodes with low signal-to-noise ratios may significatively degrade the performance of the whole network. Several algorithms have been proposed to solve this problem; the goal of this work is to compare these techniques with respect to performance and complexity.
