Abstract

Theme: evaluation of the responses of the central auditory nervus system in children with autistic spectrum disorder. Objectives: to caracterize the Brainstem Evoked Response Audiometry (BERA) with clik and speech stimuli and Long Latency Auditory Evoked Potential with tone burst and speech stimuli in children with autism and normal hearing. Methodology: 30 individuals aged five to 12 years old will participate in the study, both male and female, 15 individuals in the study group and 15 individuals in the control group. The procedures performed are: interview, otoscopy, eletroacoustic hearing evaluation, audiometry, speech audiometry, Long Latency Auditory Evoked Potential with tone burst and speech stimuli, Brainstem Evoked Response Audiometry with click and speech stimuli. All exams will be held in the Teaching and Research Center in the Departament of Physical Therapy, Speech Therapy and Occupacional Therapy, School of Medicine at University of São Paulo. (AU)
