Abstract

This study aims to assess the efficacy of a sealing material on the sealing abutment / implant interface as well as the preload of maintaining their retention screws submitted to mechanical cycling. Therefore, four groups are formed (n = 12) and two outer hex connection with implants (HE) and two implants characterized by Morse taper connection (CM) and their respective pillars UCLA type. The test specimens groups (HET and CMT) receive the sealing gel on the abutment / implant interface, whereas the control groups (HEC and CMC) on the interface will undergo no treatment. All implants are embedded in resin modified polyether and introduced 0,7¼l of Toluidine Blue (AT) in the deepest portion of each implant, then the pillars are screwed to key assistance with specific implants and a digital torque wrench. With the formation of the bodies of the test piece, these will be submitted to the mechanical cycling. The evaluation in stereo will be held before and after mechanical cycling. To evaluate the sealability of the sealing gel after the mechanical cycling will be developed a standard curve will be determined by the dilution toluidine blue (TB) 0.1 to 0.7 AT uL in 2.0 ml of distilled water, then the data is analyzed in the spectrophotometer to form the standard curve. Just after the bodies of the test piece will be placed in vials containing 2.0 mL of distilled water. The spectrophotometric analysis is done at 1, 3, 6, 24, 48, 72, 96 and 144 h. Finally it will be carried out measurements of final detorque values (post cycling). Statistical analysis will be performed with the 95% level of significance.
