Abstract

The project aims to contribute to the knowledge of the abolitionist work of Joaquim Nabuco. To this end, We analyze conjuncturally, in dialogue between literature and history, the posthumous book, understudied by critics : A escravidão (1949); O Abolicionismo (1884 ) and parliamentary speeches of Nabucco. As a memoirist work: Um estadista do Império (1899) and Minha formação (1900 ), which will allow us to establish a parameter of mediations between the work of Nabucco and the documents of his time (laws, written press, epistles , etc.)
