Total synthesis of (+)-cis-Trikentrin A

Abstract

A proposal for the asymmetric synthesis of (+)-cis-trikentrin in 12 steps from commercially available acetophenone will be shown in this project. Important reactions on the suggested route involve enzymatic resolution and a Friedel-Crafts intramolecular acylation. The reported asymmetric syntheses until now present 14 and 17 steps, i.e., the proposed route is shorter and will enable new approaches on synthesis of molecules with potential biological activity. The (+)-cis-trikentrin A, as well as advanced intermediates, will be sent to antiproliferative activity tests in the laboratory of Prof. J. E. Carvalho UNICAMP.
