Abstract

In south southeast of the Brazil a shrimp fishing targets mainly shrimps Farfantepenaeus brasiliensis and F. paulensis, popularly known as pink shrimp, due to its size and high-value marketing even without the international market, which led stocks as both the species a significant decrease in years 80 and 90 compared with an abundance of stocks among 1965-1994. Considering the economic and ecological importance of both species, the present study's goal will be to analyze the distribution and population dynamics of juveniles of the pink shrimp in the region of Cananéia/SP. The collections were carried out between the months of July/12 to May/14 in estuarine region and in the adjacent coastal marine area of Cananéia, São Paulo Southeast South Coast. The catch of shrimps was done with shrimp fishing boat, equipped with a trawl of type "double-rig" and the sampling effort was 30 minutes/drag. In each collection station was monitored the abiotic factors temperature and salinity of the fund and surface water, concentration of chlorophyll-dissolved in water, organic matter content and grain size of the sediment. Shrimp collected were quantified, measured about the carapace length (mm), heavy (g) identified about the sex and observed the gonadal stages both sexes. According to the results obtained they will be made analyzes relevant statistics every proposed objective.
