Abstract

The university entrance is a time of joy for many students, but can also be experienced with some apprehension due to the existence of hazing among college. Objective: To estimate the prevalence of hazing in a population of Nursing, Medicine, and Nutrition graduate students, aiming to identify risk and protective factors associated with this outcome. Method: This was a cross-sectional study, which collected data will be analyzed from a population of Nursing, Medicine, and Nutrition graduate students, in a survey carried out in 2013. Inside the questionnaire, there were a number of scales that allow investigating: socio-demographic variables, common mental disorders, depressive symptoms, social support, abuse of alcohol, adaptation to the city, and received or applied hazing with regret later. Receiving or have applied hazing as described, will be the outcomes.
