Abstract

This research project proposes a theoretical study of regional journalism, with concepts survey and characteristics of news production to small-town, through the survey and literature from specialized sources and author that approach. The proposal seeks to understand and explore concepts such as localism and closeness, peculiar to regional and small-town journalism, but are still covered in an incipient and fragmented way in Brazilian literature. The project intends to add theoretical load and interpretive to a larger research project developed with the support of Fundação de Amparo à Pesquisa no Estado de São Paulo (FAPESP), with title "A Notícia": um retrato do jornalismo rio-pretense nos anos 1950. Thus, the study proposed here will provide in-depth theoretical on regional journalism important to the understanding of journalism produced in São José do Rio Preto, São Paulo, in the 1950's. (AU)
