Abstract

This research's goal is to deepen our comprehension of the relation between ideals, intellectual formulation and political practice. The British academic field presents an important tradition in the studies of Political Thought and the History of Ideals, which motivated us to better understand in which way this relation between intellectuality and politics has been investigated in this country. In Brazil, we're dedicated to understanding how the reception of the works of Karl Marx by a group of intellectuals contributed to the theoretical production of these scholars, and from there, in which way these intellectuals have been inserted into politics, setting their actions from a classist perspective of society's understanding. In Bristol we will develop an investigative research, exploring in books, thesis and dissertations, the approach of different researchers took in establishing connections and interactions between ideas and politics. Furthermore, an improvement to the interpretation methods of Discourse Analysis and Linguistic Contextualism to better comprehend these connections.
