Abstract

Environmental education can be understood as a pedagogical component that seeks conscious, critical and transforming actions towards the way one should understand and relate to the environment and the world, promoting a possible link between natural sciences and human and social sciences. University, being responsible to build knowledge, it has an important role on integrating the environmental dimensions in its proceedings. Among these proceedings, it is possible to highlight the forming process of professionals able to work with environmental education and with the formulation and implementation of public policies. It is known that New institutional experiences and initiatives are frequently being put in place, including new proposals of promoting environmentalization to pedagogical practices at universities, mainly in Latin America . Therefore, the aim of this project is to analyze the dimension of insertion of environmental education at graduation level at National University of Córdoba (UNC/ Argentina), focusing in environmentalization, sustainability and the public policies in higher education in Argentina, Cordoba. The methodology is characterized by qualitative focus based on the case study of National University of Córdoba. The steps of this research encompass bibliographic and documentary research, followed by descriptive and exploratory study, field research and content analysis. Research techniques for data collection are: - semi-structured interviews with coordinators of undergraduate courses that are experiencing ambientalizadas disciplines and for those responsible for environmental management unit, and more specifically, by the Sustainable Environmental Management Program at UNC; - online questionnaires to be filled by faculty members who are dealing more directly with issues of environmental in their disciplines. It is expected that project will lead a rereading and observation of the environmental formation of professionals on high education, generate subsidies to public policies and institutions related to environment and a better understanding of this field in Latin America, contributing in future comparisons with Brazil. We also expect new partnerships between universities, along with the exchange of knowledge among researchers from diferent research groups involved, to share knowledge and environmental experiences in the university context.
