Abstract It has recently been shown that free fatty acids (FFA) can act directly on receptors that act as nutrient sensors signaling sensory (taste) and non-sensory information, such as releasing enteroendocrine and inflammation hormones. The FFA1 / GPR40 was identified as the fatty acid receptor of long chain / medium chain, the FFA2 / GPR43 and FFA3 / GPR41 as a receptor for short-chain fatty acids while the FFA4 / GPR120 appears to be activated predominantly by long-chain fatty acids of the omega-3 series. Additionally, CD36 or fatty acid translocase also seems to act as a point of attachment of long chain saturated and unsaturated fatty acids. The expression of these nutrient sensors are altered in the gut of obese, just as there are data that these changes may be related to obesity resistance phenomenon. There is little data on the expression of these nutrient sensors in adipose tissue and it relationship to local inflammation induced by obesity. There is also no data if these changes induced by obesity / fat diet are reversed with weight loss. Thus, this project aims to analyze the expression of FFAs / GPRs in the intestine and adipose tissue in a comparative way in lean animals, obese, obesity-resistant and obese that have lost weight with calorie restriction, seeking to correlate with the production of intestinal hormones and degree of inflammation in adipose tissue. | |
