Abstract

RNA-binding proteins regulate post-transcriptionally a large number of genes. It binds to various cellular mRNAs regulating splicing, location, stabilization and degradation of transcripts and act as guides in gene regulation by short non-coding RNAs, such as microRNAs. Mutations or alterations in RBPs or alterations in target mRNA regulations are associated with diseases, failures in maintaining stem cell pluripotency and processes involved in cell differentiation. However, the action mechanisms and mRNA targets of some RBPs remains unclear. Thus, this study aims to identify the target mRNAs linked to Caprin-1 protein (or Rng-105) in addition to defining the binding sites of the protein mRNAs.
