Abstract

This project for a research internship abroad aims at expanding an ongoing investigation on the travel simulators of the early cinema, carried out in São Paulo. The objectives of our proposal can be summarized in the following way: to expand the theoretical debate on the early cinema spectator; to conduct first hand research of British filmic and documental archives in order to get in contact with historical material regarding the passage of the Hale's Tours in England and in other countries - this would allow us to trace a comparative analysis against the scarce material we've already managed to put up till now in Brazil; to get in contact with foreign researchers and students by participating in study groups and other activities related to silent cinema.
