Abstract

The number of questionnaires available measuring the level of physical activity has increased considerably over the past decades. Consequently, the choice of which questionnaire use has become a challenge. In Brazil, this challenge is even greater due to the need of a rigorous translation process and cultural adaptation. The present study is a systematic review evaluating the procedures for translations and cultural adaptation as well as the psychometric properties of physical activity questionnaires translated and adapted to Portuguese. Systematic search in the databases will be undertaken: MEDLINE via OVID, EMBASE, CINAHL via EBSCO, SciELO and LILACS. Data translation and cultural adaptation, as well as data of the psychometric properties of each study will be extracted. The methodological quality will be assessed according to the guidelines for evaluating the method of translation and cultural adaptation of questionnaires. In addition the psychometric properties will be evaluated following the quality criteria for measurement properties of questionnaires healthcare.
