Abstract

The soil has been extensively degraded in all regions of the planet. That's why it is necessary to foment soil management techniques, that are based on conservation practices. At the same time, enable the mitigation of erosion in rural areas from adopting simple techniques and low cost of implementation, such as palisades technique and raffia sacks filled with soil. Therefore, the main objective of this project is to deepen the thesis in development within the Master degree, entitled " Thinking and producing Geography: a contribution to the erosion control in rural properties in the city of Regente Feijó/SP" from the study of theoretical and methodological procedures used by the "Grupo de Investigação Mudanças Ambientais, Território e Desenvolvimento do Centro Interdisciplinar de Ciências Sociais - CICS.NOVA da Universidade Nova de Lisboa". Thus we intend to analyze and compare the intervention strategies held in Mértola (Portugal) and Regente Feijó (Brazil) into that refers to the land degradation's mitigation caused by erosion in rural areas.
