Abstract

The west region of São Paulo has suffered over the decades with a strong process of deforestation, replacing native areas of Atlantic Forest and Cerrado with pasture and rural plantations, causing different ways of ambient degradation in many compartments of the relief. One of the most important modes of degradation is the one caused by the occupation by pasture, with no proper planning, causing severe line erosion problems on the soil, mostly the sand class (Oxisol, Podzolic and Entisol), descendant from the Marília Formation, of Bauru Group. This way, this project aims to use bioengineering techniques to implement alternative methodologies to control lines erosions, with the use barriers made of bamboos and jute sacks, because of its small cost and is ease on implementation in fountain degraded area, localized in country of Marília-SP. Besides that, soil sample from the erosive process where the barreiras was implanted will be collected to verify the texture characteristics and also check the erosive dynamics with the use of graduated stakes. For that, field, cabinet and laboratory works will be performed, in order to identify the occupation history, the native and present vegetation, the use of the soil, the relief morphology, the geological basement, the soil types and the climate conditions of the region. This way, the work realized in partnership with the rural proprietary can stimulate the one to develop ways to share his practices and experiences with his neighbors. (AU)
