Abstract

In Brazil, there are many types of rare minerals that have not been completed characterized. This is the case, for example, of samples of a leucocratic granitoid from the county of Bom Sucesso, Minas Gerais, Brazil. florencite-(Y), associated to churchite-(Y), is an example of rare mineral that have already been found and previously identified by chemical indication, but it still need further studies to conclude this research. In this scientific research work, it is intended to identify and characterize by X-ray diffraction, chemical analysis by EDS/WDS and optical properties, the wide variety mineralogical contained in the samples collected in this region and additionally provide an advanced study regarding the mineral florencite-(Y).
