Abstract

The increasing ageing population and increased life expectancy of this elderly population, represents a great triumph for humankind, but also a great challenge, emerging demands in counterpoint to this population, social and economic demands. One of latent challenges in this population is the high rate of falls, as well as the delay of response to help, that can result not only in fractures, but also to other outcomes, leading to irreversible psychological and social consequences, to great effect in the economy, individuals and family. Technologies capable of providing care, comfort and safety, become possibilities in the current scenario. For both, this study seeks to verify the feasibility of three remote monitoring systems for response in case of fall of elderly residents in the Aracy-São Carlos, SP, Brazil. In this study will be conducted to cost-effectiveness analysis comparing three fall event monitoring systems.
