Abstract

Geopolitics developed by the Brazilian military thought during the twentieth century, had deep concerns with the action of the Brazilian State in Plata Basin. Golbery do Couto e Silva and Mario Travassos had enormous importance in the actions that Brazil has taken in order to reverse a frame Argentine hegemony in the region, of which the construction of Itaipu Hydroelectric Plant is the ultimate symbol.
