Abstract

The main goal of this project is to produce a semi-detailed soil map of agricultural areas of São Paulo State through photopedology and digital pedotransfer functions. The map level will accord with the final evaluated assertiveness. Datasets of São Paulo State will be organized in: known areas with soil classes (existents maps); georeferenced areas with soil analysis and classification, geological maps, geomorphological maps, satellite maps with bare soil, digital elevation models and colored aerial photographs. The colored aerial photographs will be uploaded in 3D SOCET gXP v4.1 On the screen, it will be delimitated the physiographic forms with human interpretation, based on descriptive data. The polygons will be correlated with existent soil maps in semi-detailed level (IAC official squares), and with mapped and descripted areas from Soil Science Department in detailed level. After this, will be produced two maps: 1) the polygons that keep elevation, form, geology and other data will be correlated with mapping units of the previously maps. Thus, the remaining polygons will be classified by pedotransfer functions; 2) in the second approach, the known soil classes polygons will be linked with local characteristics, that will be extrapolated for all the pixels of the region, generating a new map; 3) in this last approach, the photopedological map and the digital map (second approach) will generate a complete map. The three maps will be compared, and the validation will be done directly in field, in different areas of São Paulo State. (AU)
