Abstract

This research project aims at studying the novels "O cheiro do ralo", published in 2002, and "Miguel e os demônios ou nas delícias da desgraça", published in 2009, by Lourenço Mutarelli. From them, we aim to investigate the linguistic procedures that are similar to the procedures used by the cinematic narrative, and also that the literary text mode appropriates resources of visual language to convert them into literary language and therefore verbal. The criteria for choosing the corpus based on the relationship between the formal and thematic elements present in the work of Lourenço Mutarelli, it is remarkable the use of linguistic procedures that resemble the procedures used by the cinematic narratives. Thus, we will try to discuss, based on readings of literary and film theory and also reflections on the study of objects defined as corpus, the representation in Mutarelli's literature, a modern living and fragmented characters to extreme, a language increasingly merged to film language.
