We propose a multidisciplinar post-doctoral project where some of the consequences of new microphysical aspects of stratified compact systems (of volumetric and superficial nature) in general relativity shall be investigated. From these studies several applications shall be analyzed under new perspectives, such as the description of the effects of glitches and QPOs (quasi periodic oscillations), the stability of stratified systems, their associated normal modes, etc, that can all restrict models for the innermost regions of compact systems, as well as scrutinize phase transitions that lead to surface degrees of freedom in layered systems. These investigations are relevant since they can establish bridges between asptrophysical observations and and microphysical aspects of the dense matter that have attracted more and more the attention of the scientific community.
