Abstract

The Project is a research activity of Prof. Luciano Bachmann in the Research Group of Biophotonics and Health Technologies of University of Reims Champagne-Ardene (URCA), Reims, France; under supervision of Prof. Cyril Gobinet. Prof. Luciano Bachmann and Prof. Cyril Gobinet share research activities of Cancer diagnosis employing spectral imaging of tissues. Both teams collaborates since 2012 with a project of Mobility from COFECUB/USP (2012-2014), where Prof. Cyril Gobinet was a member and Prof. Luciano Bachmann the coordinator form Brazilin Team. In the present project, we have the objective to correlate the hyperspectral images of infrared spectroscopy of colon tissues (ulcerative colitis and Chron diseases) with pathologic imagens. The numerical analysis employ K-means clustering and looks to identify spectroscopic features that are characteristics for inflammatory process. At least, the infrared hyperspectral imagens will be employed for discriminant analysis; and the infrared spectroscopy will be evaluated for a diagnosis procedure of inflammatory process.
