Abstract

The main objective of this Project is to study the ionospheric F-layer multiple stratification at the equatorial and low-latitude regions. The formation of the fourth F-layer stratification in the American Sector was observed for the first time by the author of this proposed project, using ionosonde observation at Palmas (10.3°S, 48.3°W). However, there are several open questions related to stF4 that were not published or studied during the Tardelli Doctorade research. Among these subjects are the seasonal variation of stF4 at equatorial and low-latitude region, the relationship between F3 and stF4, and the relationship between the stF4 formation in the equatorial and low-latitude region. It is important to mention that the subject of this Pos-doctorade is one of the subject of the Thematic project (No.2012/08445-9) and this research topic will significantly contribute to the success of the thematic project.
