Abstract

Research developing in organic printed electronics and the technological advancement of lightweight, thin and flexible devices require energy storage solutions exploring the same characteristics. In this context, supercapacitors printed on paper seem to be a good option. Paper has good potential as a substrate for supercapacitors, since, besides being low cost, lightweight and flexible, its porosity and surface roughness are important for increasing the effective area, and consequently the energy storage capacity. As an active material used to manufacture supercapacitors, the polymer PEDOT: PSS stands out. It has been widely used in organic printed electronics as a charge collector electrode because of its conductive characteristics, as well in active electrodes in energy storage devices due to its redox reactions when in contact with electrolytes. The main objective of this project is the study of organic supercapacitors printed onto paper based on PEDOT: PSS, aimed at flat, lightweight and flexible devices, which could be used in conjunction with other elements in all-printed circuits.
