Abstract

Executive functions are related to a set of cognitive processes that allow the individual to exercise control and regulate their behaviors due to the requirements and demands of the environment. Different neuropsychological tests are used to evaluate executive functions. However, it turns out that there is only a few studies that indicate the ecological validity of these neuropsychological instruments. The objective of this work is to verify the existence of correlation between tests assessing executive function and status in real environment surrounding domain skills related to these functions. 30 students of both sexes will be assessed through a battery of neuropsychological traditional tests as well as psychological scales. then they will be submitted to a real situation that involves performing tasks and solving problems in finding material in a library. Behavioral data and the patterns of eye movements during the traditional evaluation will be analyzed, as also the achievement of the task in real environment. Pearson's correlations between the results of the traditional tests, with behavioral measures and eye movements of the real environment will be leaded. Linear Regression Analisis will also be leaded to verify the predictive value of neuropsychological tests for performance in real environment.
