Abstract

This a proposal for a seven month period internship at the Department of Parasitology in Leiden University Medical Center (LUMC) under the supervision of Dr. Maria Yazdanbakhsh, who exercises leadership and recognized international excellence in immunology of filariasis. The main objective of this short-term research project is analyze field-collected peripheral blood mononuclear cell samples using cutting-edge immunological methods available at Leiden University Medical Center andbenefit from the high quality technical services provided by the Leiden University Medical Center and from the extensive experience in immunology of human filariasis that we have developed over the last decades.
