Abstract

The lack of knowledge about the behavior of seedlings of native tree species in relation to the herbicide selectivity , coupled with the current strategies in restoration of degraded natural ecosystems , justifies the execution of this project. They will be tested 80 species that occur in semideciduous forests, and are widely used in restoration projects :Bauhinia forficata Link., Croton urucurana Bail., Guazuma ulmifolia Lam., Inga vera Willd. , Senna Multijuga (Rich.) H.S. Irwin & Barneby, Solanum granulosoleprosum Dunal, Heliocarpus popayanensis Kunth (Heliocarpus americanus L.), Acnistus arborescens (L.) Schltdl., Alchornea triplinervia (Spreng.) Muell. Arg. , Allophylus edulis (A.St.-Hill.) Radlk., Aloysia virgata (Ruiz & Pav.) Juss., Anadenanthera colubrina (Vell.) Bren., Astronium graveolens Jacq., Balfourodendron riedelianum (Engl.) Engl., Brysonima laxiflora, Cabralea canjerana (Vell.) Mart., Campomanesia gaviroba, Campomanesia xanthocarpa O. The sulfentrazone , oxyfluorfen and haloxyfop-methyl is applied in different doses (0D , 1 / 2D , 1D and 2 D, where D = commercial dose of each product ) on the seedlings of different tree species in order to assess whether the products differentially affect the plant survival and growth. The experiments will be conducted at the Center for Agricultural Sciences , UFSCar , Araras , SP . The herbicide selectivity assay will have a completely randomized design with four replications. After the application will be assessed phytotoxicity at 7, 14 , 21, 30 and 45 days after treatment ( DAT ) and the dry matter of the aerial part to 50 DAT . The data will be interpreted by analysis of variance (ANOVA ) - which means between treatments will be compared by Tukey test or t-test ( p = 0.05 ) and linear regression analysis.
