Abstract

The project's objective is to investigate the hypothesis that, in Moses and monotheism (Freud, 1934-8/1996), Freud delineates a non-identity category of symbolization: the foreign. The research intends to dig up, in the style of Walter Benjamin, the socio-historical layers that permit an instant of emersion of this category at the interior of the Freudian theory. Such as a distending of the Jetztzeit (Walter Benjamin, 1940/2005), which would lead Freud to the gesture of writing, this proposal intends to analyze the form and the content of that text. It is presumed that, with this investigation, it will be possible to circumscribe the idea of the foreign as symbolic form intimately related to the contemporary aspects of psychoanalysis and of philosophy, whose main protagonists are primarily Jacques Lacan and Slavoj Zizek.
