Variability of symbolic analysis of heart rate and the spiritual experience scale daily

Abstract

The Cardiac autonomic regulation can be analyzed through the heart rate variability (HRV), which shows the influence of the autonomic nervous system on the sinus node. It has been shown that spirituality helps in quality of life and is seen as beneficial in several health indicators. Studies have shown that the induction of emotions through spirituality assists in the care of the health of individuals with cardiac disorders and prevents the development of diseases metals. Objective: To analyze the association between spirituality and cardiac autonomic regulation. Method: The study will be conducted in healthy female subjects with aged between 18 and 35 years. The individuals who present procedure cardiorespiratory disorders, neurological, drugs that influence cardiac autonomic regulation, or any other impairment that prevents the individual from participating will be excluded from procedure. First the initial assessment will be carried out (which will be collected information such as age, sex, weight, height, BMI, if the voluntary use medication, contraceptive and date of menstruation) then the Daily Spiritual Experience Scale, this is made for 16 items and is considered as one-dimensional. In the first 15 items contains scores ranging from 1 (many times a day) to 6 (never or hardly ever). The item 16 in general, as you feel close to God is answered on a scale of 4 points (from 1 = not near to 4 = as close as possible). The total score is obtained by adding the scores of the 16 items, ranging 16-94, and the lower scores reflect higher frequency of spiritual experiences. After answered the scale will put the heart rate monitor belt and the volunteer should sit and stand still for 5 to 10 minutes until the heart rate to stabilize. Then systolic and diastolic blood pressure will be measured, and will start the registry in polar. During the first minute record is measured respiratory rate. The heart rate will be recorded until the tenth minute of the polar. To analyze the effects of the collection period, the HRV indices will be selected a five-minute break and only series of 256 stable R-R intervals will be used for analysis. The association between symbolic analysis of HRV indexes and EEED scores will be determined by Pearson and Spearman.
