Coastal system in school: use paradidactic notebook as a tool for contextualised teaching in fundamental school

Abstract

This project proposes with goal the development of a paradidactic notebook about coastal system and their suitability to support activities of elementary school teachers (6th and 7th grade) of the São Vicente region. To achieve this goal the main goals set are: set based on the analysis of satellite images and field trips the spatial distribution of morphological elements of the coastal system of the area where schools fall; develop paradidactic notebook entitled Coastal System in School with theoretical content and with activities practical in classroom and extracurricular with emphasis on morphological elements recognized in the previous step; prepare an initial training course for teachers of the elementary school on the content of paradidactic notebook and to evaluate its application in the classroom. For the development of this project public schools were selected, with elementary school the São Vicente: Municipal School Republica de Portugal e State School Pastor Joaquim Lopes Leão. These schools are located in satellite images for the description and characterization of the morphological elements of the region. The morphological elements will be illustrated (drawings, pictures and photographs) and described as the concept and formative processes. In addition, the study of geological and biological constitution of morphological elements should be covered during the field activities. In this context, the project aims to provide the didactic collection of schools integrated support material with theoretical content and practical classroom activities and extracurricular about the formation and development of coastal environments, which can contribute to the school insertion in reality. It is hoped that this project a gain in quality of Fundamental Education in São Vicente, since the material can educate teachers and students about the importance of coastal environments.
