Abstract

This project aims the accomplishment of a three-month internship at Duke University (North Carolina, United States), under the advisory of Professor Fredric Jameson. It consists on a schedule of study and academic activities that will contribute qualitatively to the research that I am currently developing in Brazil with the support of FAPESP, entitled "Marxist Criticism and Modernity in Fredric Jameson". During my stay at Duke University, I expect to focus on my research on the work of Fredric Jameson and on the theme "Marxism and Modernity" by experiencing the intellectual life of the university and its research background in the field of contemporary and Marxist theory. The main objective is to take advantage of the opportunity to have Jameson's academic orientation to make significant progress on my investigation of the key features of his theoretical work and intellectual trajectory. For this, I will have a three-month research script that includes readings and guiding questions for investigation. I expect to present the results achieved through a final report, as well as through an interview with Jameson, that I hope to accomplish during my internship abroad. (AU)
