Abstract

The aim of this study is to implement and evaluate the Virtual Learning Environment (VLE) on prevention of pressure ulcer (PU) for individuals with spinal cord injury (SCI). This is a descriptive exploratory study, Survey, cross-sectional and intervention with quasi-experimental design, pre and post-test. The study will be conducted in four phases. All phases will follow the model of Knowledge Action "Knowledge-to-Action" proposed by Graham et al., 2006. Phase 1: review of the AVA`s content and format according to guidelines for prevention PU NPUAP, EPUAP, PPPIA 2014; 2nd phase: evaluation of AVA PU prevention - the individuals with SCI will assess the AVA via mobile; 3rd phase: to make improvements in AVA according to the evaluation of individuals with SCI and 4th phase: implementation and evaluation of AVA for individuals with SCI. The first phase of the study is the process of knowledge creation. Phases 2-4 are the application process of knowledge action cycle. The research project will first be forwarded to the nursing head department where the study will be conducted, for knowledge and consent. Subsequently the research Project will be sent for consideration by the Research Ethics Committee following the regulation 466/2012 concerning the ethical aspects observed when conducting research with humans in Brazil. Individuals with SCI who attended at a rehabilitation center in the city of Sao Paulo will be invited to participate. (AU)
