Abstract

This project intends to study the topological aspects of two-dimensional dynamical systems, in light of the recently developed tools. Our main goal is to characterize surface homeomorphisms with null topological entropy, the transition to Chaos in families of dissipative plane diffeomorphisms and the restrictions to rotation sets of homeomorphisms of closed surfaces in the homotopy class of the identity.
