Abstract

Perovskite based solar cells have attracted much attention over the last 5 years. A formamidinium lead-halide perovskite (FAPbI3) solar cell has been reported to have achieved a power conversion efficiency (PCE) of 20.1%: and outstanding breakthrough in this field. A hybrid organic-inorganic solar cell using as active layer a nanocomposite film composed of methylammonium lead iodide (CH3NH3PbI3) nanocrystals and MEH-PPV was reported with 3% PCE; a promising result for organic-inorganic solar cells. The full inorganic cesium lead-halide (CsPbX3) perovskites are also promising in the field of photovoltaics, and no works have been published applying them for solar cells. In this Master project the main goal is to explore these promising materials and prepare nanocomposites by dispersing cesium lead-halide perovskite quantum-dots (PQDs) into semiconducting polymers such as MEH-PPV, P3HT, and PTB7. For the first time these nanocomposites films will be used as the pair donor/acceptor in third-generation solar cells.
